“Click”

This artpice discusses the process of forming. The art piece itself was formed by the making process and influenced by the making process. It’s changeable and unpredictable. I’m trying to explore the importance of the hierarchy between final outcome and the making process by making the process into a piece itself.

The hanging Installation are cyanotype patterns and 3D printed structures. The cyanotype pattern is the documentation of 3d Printed structure’s shadow. It’s a continuation of the making process. 

The image formed by Touchdesigner in the visualization of the projector was separated into two parts. The part with the large-scale image is an audio-interactive structure. I document the sound of me taking the photo of shadow, the sound of the 3D printer, and the sound of the Injek printer. Feed all the cyanotype images inside touchdesign and let audio control its variation. 

On top of it, I added a webcam to capture the image of the audience and made a transparent layer to contrast with the cyanotype pattern. And it will generate data according to this image contrast. This interaction works more like a hidden story. Audiences may get confused or interactive with considering it as a sensor, but more importantly, they are influencing the art piece under their awareness, making this piece unpredictable.
